My dog eats too fast

Dogs usually when they see food run over to the bowl and gobble it up, but this is not good, it can cause some serious health problems. Dogs often eat very quickly, greedily, without even chewing before swallowing. This usually happens if the animal had to deal with competition when it was a puppy, or if it lives in a home with other dogs, or in dogs from rescue centres or farms. It’s a survival instinct: to eat the food quickly, before someone else eats it. Unfortunately, eating food quickly is not good. It creates indigestion, gas, stomach pain and in the worst case gastric distension. This can lead to a quick death if you don’t take action. When a dog eats too fast, there is a risk that the stomach will literally turn about 180, a very serious event that can only be corrected if you receive immediate veterinary intervention from an experienced veterinarian.
